San Francisco office has become the largest local stone
contractor in the Bay Area with an unsurpassed reputation
for Dimensional Stone Projects, Design/Build Support Systems,
Historical Building Restoration and the fabrication, installation
and restoration of Terra Cotta building fascia. Carrara’s
San Francisco office covers the area from Sacramento to
San Jose.

Marble Company Of America, San
Francisco proudly claims the landmark exterior of the United
States Court of Appeals at Mission and Seventh Street, completed
in 1995. With its own local resources, Carrara successfully
and timely completed this large-scale project of historical
granite Reconstruction and Seismic Retrofitting. Also in
1995, Carrara completed the William Gates Science Building
at Stanford University which consisted of approximately
30,000 square feet of large cubic limestone on a Design/Build
Steel Support and Anchorage System which was entirely furnished
and installed with Carrara's own forces. Following those
projects, Carrara was contracted to complete the Seismic
Retrofitting and Historical Restoration of the San Francisco
City Hall. This Seismic Retrofitting involved restoration
of existing Limestone, Marble and Granite and the procurement
and installation of new Terra Cotta, Masonry, Terrazzo,
Ceramic and Porcelain Tile. The exterior and interior were
restored by means of a Chemical and Micro-Abrasive Cleaning
technique (JOS).
Carrara

achievements in the San Francisco Bay Area include the successful
and timely completion of the Historical Broadway Façade
project in the City of Oakland (Carrara was the General
Contractor). Carrara completed seismic retro fitting and
restoration of all stonework for the historical San Francisco
City Hall, U.S. Court of Appeals and Fox Theater (San Jose).
